At A&T, the trade fair for automation and industrial technology at Fiera di Vicenza, Siderius is at the IA Forum, Hall 6, together with Distilleria Zanin 1895. We present the workshop Interrogare la mente: progettare la percezione di un prodotto con i dati e l’AI, “questioning the mind: designing the perception of a product with data and AI”, and a new service born from our work with Zanin.

What the workshop covers

The workshop shows how three kinds of evidence combine to anticipate how a product will be perceived, remembered and chosen.

Three kinds of evidence, one perception to design. Quantitative data: market trends, sales, the volume and tone of public conversations, processed by AI at scale. Qualitative research: what people say, do and mean, where data becomes interpretation. Cognitive science: how perception works and why some colours, forms and stories land at once. Together they anticipate how a product will be perceived, remembered and chosen.

Two findings sit at the centre. The brain continuously anticipates what it is about to perceive and corrects its prediction as signals arrive,1 so the label, colour and name of a product create an expectation that shapes the experience of it. And most people share associations between the senses, such as between certain colours and certain flavours.2 Together they explain why perception can be designed, and measured, rather than left to chance.

A case from practice: FlyOver

The workshop draws on FlyOver, the line of six liqueurs designed with Zanin 1895 and launched in the United Kingdom in three months. Semantic analysis of more than 50,000 public conversations showed that the category read as old, while history and heritage read as authentic. The project shifted the weight from the category to the story, and in 2026 the line was awarded at four international competitions.

The two research questions of FlyOver: what the word Sambuca evokes, and what British buyers are looking for, with the findings and the design decisions they led to.

New at the fair: Packaging Compliance

From a project with Zanin 1895 on the EU packaging regulation (PPWR, Regulation 2025/40) came Packaging Compliance, a Siderius service for companies placing packaged products on the European market. AI reads supplier documents and drafts declarations; fixed rules calculate the legal thresholds; people verify and decide. The full case is on the blog: PPWR compliance: the Siderius method and the Zanin 1895 case.

The four steps of the Packaging Compliance method: AI reads supplier documents, a person verifies, fixed rules calculate thresholds, AI drafts and a person signs the declaration.
